It has been a while since myi last post on this blog. I’m realy busy with planning my wedding, working on the new Funky Beat Radio website and other stuff. It has been a long time since i’ve diggin’ crate, but July was a realy good moment since the flea market hits my home town every wednesday that month. I also went to a little town just outside of my hometown to visit friends and ended somehow in a secondhand shop with a crazy amout of late 70’s and begin 80’s disco 12 inches. All in almost mint condition (after cleaning them with the knosti). Today i got me an Knosti Disco Antistat and cleaned some records with it. I’ve read some horror stories about the fluid they deliver, but i think they’ve maybe changed the formula. The cleaning results i’ve had today were good enough. Some records were super filthy and will need a second “bath”, but most records came out perfectly clean.

Record cleaning with the knosti will gave (a little) mess of leaking fluid when cleaning, and putting the fluid back in the bottle. If you want great money’s worth, you get a knosi. If you have some extra money to spend, buy an okki-nokki of something like that. The knosti sells around 50 euros, while okki-nokki goes for around 400 euros.

Just finished the Time Capsule Volume III mix which will be broadcasted to celebrate the 50th episode of The Funk Is On. It was a lot of work and i still have to check all the volumes and little errors that are left. The mix is 119 minutes long and had 121 tracks. It starts at 99 BPM and ends at 126 BPM.

I’m finaly speeding up the mix to the higher BPM’s. Same as last year most of the tracks are 128 BPM, so it is hard to make a mix that will keep peoples attention. I think i’ve managed that, but still i think it’s a pitty that most producers stick to 128 BPM. One more reason why this is my last (commercial) yearmix.
